About me

This page was born out of my experiences over the last few decades. When I was 17, I attended The Mountain School of Milton Academy in Vershire, Vermont.  One of the principles that stuck with me from TMS was having a sense of place, and leaving a place better than you found it.  Over the years, TMS has stuck with me, deep down, no matter what twists and turns have come my way.  Most recently, through the trials of life, I have rediscovered my tenants and have decided to focus my energy on leaving people and places greater than I found them, one small experience at a time.

I was inspired by the Sierra thru-hiking mountain culture while I trekked across the John Muir Trail.  Each and every person I met along the trail was incredibly kind, open, inspiring, interesting and willing to give part of themselves to anyone they came across.  I believe that openness can get lost in everyday life.  I hope to remind myself and my friends across the country that kindness, and respect for place, can lead to extraordinary life experiences.
